Exhibition and Book Launch: Seeds of Change!

Thursday 29th October | 5 AM – 8 AM

In celebration of the Seeds of Change conference this October join us for an evening launch of The Sustainable Darkroom’s new book and the Seeds of Change Conference exhibition! This launch is free to attend and is open to the wider public as well as those attending the conference.

We invite you to join us for an evening celebrating the launch of The Sustainable Darkroom’s new book and the Seeds of Change conference exhibition. We gather to share and create radical visions for the future of photography.

Book Launch: Bury After Reading: The Afterlives of Images

For six years, The Sustainable Darkroom has fostered an international community dedicated to rethinking photography in an age of climate and ecological crisis. While many seek quick technical fixes for sustainability, our approach has aimed to look deeper—beyond material substitutions—towards more nuanced, critical, and imaginative understandings of what photography is and what it can become. This book of collected essays aims to break the loop of hyper-focusing on process, presenting radical visions of the past, present, and future of photography.

Exhibition: Seeds of Change

An exhibition of art works exploring sustainable futures for photography. Selected artists and community partners present photographic work in response to conference themes: ruins and decay, commons, gardens, regenerative systems.

Black and orange photographic print, with liquid effect.
