As part of the City of Making exhibition programme, the Art Collection are pleased to announce the New Adelphi Exhibition Gallery’s first photography open call.
Salford has always been a place to experiment, invent and imagine. PHOTO 100 is inspired by Salford’s 100 year anniversary, join us in celebrating Salford and submit your images inspired by the city’s past, present or future.
Selected works will be displayed on our Gallery’s digital screen, and one prize-winner* will receive a £70 voucher with Come Through Lab (for e.g. photo supplies, printing and framing).
Existing or new works can be submitted.
*Please note, all current staff are NOT eligible for the prize draw.

Opens: Monday 9th March 2026
Deadline: 9am on Tues 7th April 2026
Entry eligibility: University of Salford students, alumni and colleagues only.
The main themes are:
- Natural and built environment
- History and heritage
- Creativity and making

Please note we are only accepting submissions with 1 image.
By submitting you agree to the terms listed on this page.
Include:
1) Your name
2) Confirm are you: Student, alumni, staff?
3) One sentence about your image
4) Image title, date, medium
5) Your Instagram/webpage if applicable
6) If eligible (students/alumni) do you wish to enter the prize draw?
7) Link to your image
Please do NOT send as an attachment. Please use a file upload or sharing service such as OneDrive, Dropbox, or Google Drive. Ensure the recipient email has access, and that the link is not time limited.
Terms:
Eligibility: This call is open to our colleagues, students and alumni. As it’s our first gallery competition we’re keeping it to those communities for now. Look out for further public open calls in future!
Formats: Submit a digital file produced in any format, e.g. analogue, digital, smartphone, etc. Send in 300dpi resolution if possible. Please only submit one image.
Prize: All current staff (all contract types) and suppliers (e.g. freelancers) are NOT eligible for the prize draw. Only students and alumni/graduates may enter.
Copyright: By submitting you agree that you are the author/creator and copyright holder of the image. You will retain all authorship and copyright. You agree to image use by the University of Salford Art Collection, in digital and print forms, for display / exhibition / publication purposes.
